Your effort and expertise are crucial to the success and execution of this impactful mission. This opportunity supports an Enterprise IT contract with a team of SIGDEV Analysts, Systems Engineers, Junior Engineers, Telecommunication Technical Analysts and System Administrators, responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance and sustainment of multi-level Enterprise IT environment.
Job Description:
- The PMO has a current opening for Chief Engineer (CE). In this position, you will help support the Program Manager and Operations Manager to identify and address the risks, opportunities across the mission areas, interface with task leads to characterize issues and challenges, and connect with stakeholders to figure out the best course of action to help mitigate the pain points, implement best practices, and relay lessons learned to ensure the team continues to improve operational impact. You will help be a liaison to RealmOne’s Foundry team to help shape and incorporate advanced technology and internal research and development (IR&D) efforts into the mission areas. Occasional travel will be required to customer sites in Central Maryland, CONUS, and OCONUS.
The Chief Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
- Take the initiative to self-educate (research, training, attending Gov’t briefings, etc.) and strive to become a SME in the mission space.
- Build strong relationships with the Government customers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Support and mentor Portfolio and TTO Leads across all mission areas and TTOs.
- Responsible for technical coordination and collaboration across the MFT.
- Drive culture of continuous innovation and process improvement; provide technical input to the PMO and the Government; maintain technical best practices.
- Responsible for assessment of technical needs and collaborations across all contract program organizations and with external contracts (and their organizations).
- Forward deployment to mitigate mission risks by engaging with the technical team and key stakeholders to determine process enhancements and best path forward.
- Identify training needs for personnel; make whitepaper recommendations and facilitate coordination for forecasted or current challenges and innovations; identify IR&D topics.
- Implement best practices across the contract and assist with implementation, where practical.
- Organization and management of various working groups with technical SMEs.
- Collaboration with product development organizations in areas such as requirements clarification, architecture, maintenance, documentation, training, and integration & test.
- Inward facing within both the mission and the PMO but also outward facing to execute strategy, development and forecasting/creating opportunities.
- Desired Skills:
- Understanding of the Agencies mission and organizational structure, the ability to pull threads across multiple organizations, connect Org Stakeholders and engage with the other MFT Company Executives and Technical Directors.
- Previous progressive technical leadership roles to include TTO/Tech Lead, Chief Engineer, etc.
- Systems Engineering experience; Development and/or Operational experience with front-end collection systems; Basic knowledge of network protocols.
- Familiarity with commercial SATCOM, wireless, and/or wired modern telecommunication technologies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting IC or DoD programs.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Pay Range: 225,000-275,000
