Job Description:

  • We are seeking a dynamic Cryptologic Cyber Planner with hands-on experience in supporting Government missions or similar efforts. We are looking for a skilled Reverse Engineer to analyze malicious binaries using various methods and determine functionality and indicators of compromise.  You will provide information that assists with malware detection and mitigation.  Experience with malware reverse engineering is required and expertise with Ghidra and/or IDA Pro is helpful. 

The Reverse Engineer Level 2 shall possess the following capabilities: 

  • Perform technical analysis of malicious binaries through controlled execution and/or static analysis of assembly code, overcoming techniques designed to defeat analysis, in order to ascertain functionality, capability, call-backs, assist with attribution to adversary infrastructure, and identification of indicators of compromise.
  • Provide information and documentation that enables malware detection, signature creation, and mitigation. 

Qualifications: 

  • Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Associate’s degree with 17 years of experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree must be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science or a degree in a related field (Computer Information Systems, Engineering), a degree in the physical/hard sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy), or other science disciplines with a substantial computational component (i.e. behavioral, social, or life) may be considered if it included a concentration of coursework (5 or more courses) in advanced Mathematics (typically 300 level or higher, such as linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning)  and/or computer science (e.g. algorithms, programming, , data structures, data mining, artificial intelligence).  College-level requirement, or upper-level math courses designated as elementary or basic do not count.

  • Relevant experience must be in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least on high level language (e.g. Python), statistical analysis (e.g. variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models), data management (e.g. data cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineering.   
  • Experience with designing and building:

  • Analyze metadata collected from tasked communications systems in order to identify, locate, and track targets, and to accurately report the intelligence gained from metadata analysis.

This opportunity supports a team of Data Scientists, Cryptologic Computer Scientists, Cryptanalytic Computer Scientists, Cryptologic Cyber Planners, Intrusion Analysts, Protocol Analysts, Signals Analysts and Reverse Engineers, responsible for improving, protecting, and defending our Nation’s Security.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Cryptologic Cyber Planner with hands-on experience in supporting DOD missions or similar efforts. In this role, you will be at the forefront of strategic and operational planning, driving collaboration across agencies, and working closely with external partners to deliver impactful cyber and intelligence solutions. Your expertise will be vital in shaping mission success through innovative approaches in collection, analysis, and external customer engagement.  

The Cryptologic Cyber Planner Level 3 shall possess the following capabilities:

  • Relevant experience must be in an area directly related to a national agency mission (e.g. collection, cyber and intelligence analysis) and/or similar mission in the IC or DoD and include strategic and/or operational level planning (e.g. joint operations).
  • External engagement/collaboration experience (e.g. participation in cross-Agency working groups, JDA, field experience, and external customer support.
  • Familiarity with the JOPES process and experience in planning and executing cyber operations (at the tactical level or the campaign level).
  • Be a self-starter and have the ability to coordinate across mission elements.
     

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED plus 12 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.
  • A degree in Cyber Security, Information Assurance or related field is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable.
     

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
