Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Operations System Engineer that will assist in collaborating with system users, requirements owners, and developmental contractors to translate operational requirements into software requirements, designs, and implementations. Operations System Engineer will support the internal Product Office Team planning and execution with the Defense contractor to posture for 24/7 uptime of the operational platform.
The Acquisition Operations Coordinator shall possess the following capabilities:
• Participates in planning, coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling engineering and technical support activities applicable to network operations, program management, risk management, and integration of software tools/capabilities onto a variety of execution platforms.
• Participates in the development and execution of software and system test strategies.
• Reviews and assesses developmental contractor performance, schedules, plans, and estimates to ensure alignment with stakeholder requirements.
• Participates in government oversight of contractor software development activities, to include as a supporting team member in agile development paradigm activities (e.g., scrums, sprint retrospectives), and generating recommendations to the government Assistant Product Manager regarding development, development planning, development/test automation tools, requirements prioritization, test, evaluation, cross-system integration, and fielding/delivery, and post-delivery support of software-based systems.
• Provides integrated, multi-disciplinary solution recommendations for resolution of technical problems.
• Applies critical thinking and collaborative problem solving to identify and mitigate risk.
• Generates and briefs products to convey information to stakeholders.
Requirements: MUST HAVE
• Experience assisting the government with technical oversight of vendor IT-developmental efforts.
• Experience with commercial compute (e.g., Dell), storage (e.g., NetApp), and networking (e.g., CISCO) server grade hardware
• Experience with virtualized environments (VMs, VMWare).
• Familiarity with CI/CD best practices and tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, Nexus, Jenkins).
• Excellent communications skills including the ability to generate and deliver focused briefings on complex topics to senior leaders.
• Ability to make recommendations for business process improvements with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the technology needs.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with the RMF process and security assessment technologies (e.g., Fortify, SonarQube, ACAS).
• Experience with Development Security Operation (DevSecOps).
• Experience with managing a software deployment via VMWare to provide development. support services to a variety of end-users geographically spread across CONUS.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, Scaled Agile Framework).
• Experience developing Web services software.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree required. Four addition years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for degree.
• Travel: up to 25%
• 5+ years of direct experience with Information Systems Management, Cyber/Network Operations planning, or Military Operations coordination.
• 2+ years in cyber, Information Technology, or C4ISR systems.
